Highly Accurate, Current Sensing Coils for Resistance
Welding Current Monitors & Other High Current Measurement Applications
Replace your existing current sensing coil on your Resistance Welding
Current meter or Current Measuring System and reduce your measurement error by
40 to 85%
Announcing a significant improvement in the measurement of high electrical
currents. Coils that are commonly used for resistance welding current
monitors (RWCM's), and for other high current measuring applications, have been
shown to contribute significant errors to the measurement of these
currents. Tests of ordinary coils have shown errors related to the
position on conductors or in the welding loop of up to ±7% of the measured
current value. The same coils can have temperature coefficients that can
result in additional measurement changes of 2.4% of indicated current for a 40
°F (22 °C) temperature change. Both of these error sources are virtually
eliminated when using the same monitor or measuring system with the new Model
213 precision coil. Due to the extensive research by RAMTech Engineering
and HCT, the Model 213 is a highly accurate, temperature stable, and low
position sensitivity Rogowski coil. It ca be used in any conductor
geometry without affecting the measurement results. Recent advances in
coil fabrication techniques have drastically reduced the costs for these
precision coils.
Replacement Coils for Resistance Welding Current Meters
The new coils are plug compatible with most resistance welding
current monitors on the market today. HCT will install the new coil on
your existing monitor and recalibrate the monitor with its direct NIST traceable
current measurement standards and provide a Certificate of Report of
Calibration. The calibration lists all errors in the unit before and after
calibration. The Report and Certificates of Calibration meet necessary
requirements to comply with many QA and ISO standards. The Model 213 coils
are now available in 2 standard sizes. Choose the coil most appropriate
for you welding equipment. The coils are available as solid core or split
core (two half round sections) designs. The split core design (Model
213-13-SC) does not require disconnecting the current-carrying conductor to
install or remove the coil in your welder.
***All accuracies are relative to the "true value" of the
parameter specified and include the accuracy of the standards used to
calibrate of the standards used to calibrate the coil or system!!!!!
(Many manufacturers do not include the accuracy of the equipment used to
calibrate their current monitors or controllers!)
