Features: High Current Technologies, Inc. (HCT) is introducing a precision integrator that significantly improves the measurement accuracy of high pulsed currents and continuous currents. The Model 1007 Integrator has unique design features that reduce problems commonly encountered. Among these problems are zero drift which causes a "ramp" during measurement, phase errors, and temperature drift. The result of these problems is inaccurate current measurements and wasted time that can create questionable credibility of critical measurements. The Model 1007, when mated with an HCT current sensing coil, is the most accurate system available for the measurement of high currents.
This new integrator, with an HCT precision current sensing coil, allows highly reliable and the most accurate measurements of circuit breaker test set currents, resistance welding currents and pulsed currents for other applications. The Model 1007 provides a quantum improvement over other integrators, including those that employ digital integration methods.
The Model 1007 measurement accuracy is verified by thorough testing and calibration using NIST-calibrated steady-state and pulsed high current measurement standards.
HCT and RAMTech Engineering have developed this highly accurate, temperature stable, multi-range integrator. Extensive engineering development efforts have created an integrator capable of measurement of long-duration pulsed currents to 250 kA and steady state currents to 50 kA. The System (coil and Model 1007 Integrator) is also capable of measurement of currents containing asymmetrical currents that cannot be measured accurately using other current sensors, such as current transformers or resistive shunts. The unique design of the Model 1007 results in a very low temperature coefficient. This means that the Integrator can be used over a wide temperature range without significantly effecting measurement accuracy. Further, the noise is extremely low on all ranges, which minimizes its effect on your measurements. The Model 1007 allows current measurements at newly achievable accuracy approaching those only attainable at national metrology laboratories. The unique design of the Model 1007 allows accurate measurements of transient currents, i.e., transient sinusoidal, "chopped" sinusoidal, pulsed "dc" and highly distorted ac, pulses with durations greater than 3 seconds! A MEASUREMENT NOT POSSIBLE BEFORE THIS UNIT’S AVAILABILITY. Additionally, the Model 1007 can measure pulsed "dc" currents such as are created by inverter, transistorized, and 3-phase full-wave rectified resistance welding equipment and circuit breaker thermal test sets. The design of the Integrator allows manual or remote control operation. This allows convenient interface to data acquisition systems and other automated measurement and control systems. The shielded design provides noise immune measurement and control in high current environments, even during possible arcing conditions on high voltage systems.
